Description

Final Fantasy 7 fanart, drawn for the Video Game History project at

I'm sure many of you were expecting Aerith's death to be the scene pictured for FF7, well, guess what, that game has more than that one scene, there's a lot of really powerful moments to choose from, and this particular one, is by far one of my most favourite. This scene is equally heartwarming and heart-shattering, and I can't help but shed a tear every time I see it, hearing about Seto's story and witnessing Nanaki's resolve just really tug on dem heartstrings.

For anyone who hasn't seen this scene, check here - youtu.be/ihCEkJywsRY

About the art itself, as you can see it's a bigger one than I usually do, and it took considerably longer than others as well. Drawing the scenery and all the characters was very tricky and took a long while to sketch, but I'm pretty proud of the composition, as well as the mist and night sky effects, which also took quite a bit of time and patience. As for the characters, I used a sort of semi-chibi style, as a sort of compromise between their official look and the ingame 3D models, just felt fitting that way.

Anyways, really proud of this pic, so if you like it, please, share your thoughts in the comments, I'd love to hear what you think about it ^^

This scene made going through that portion of the cave worth it. No not because of the Gi Warrior ghost it was kinda hard; but those Stinger Bomb-inducing spiders. Those things are super annoying when first playing. XD

And in the end we see Red XIII/Nanaki understand his true heritage as the direct son of Seto. The part where he howls to the petrified remains of his father is truly a tear-jerker for sure. Seriously I really wanna know how it'll be handled in the Remake; to which we probably won't know for a while given the first part takes place entirely in Midgar.

This must've taken you an ungodly amount of time to make. But it turned out really amazing. Your pics are always super-detailed; and this one is no exception. But the amount of time and passion put into it is really noticeable and shows a true dedication to your black/white art style. X3

Finally I could take some little time to leave a proper comment for you!
But I'm terribly sorry for the long wait ...

This one is an incredibly detailed piece. Though looking only one tone in the near I can see the details in the far haha :'D
But nonetheless, I like the combination witht he simple "low-poly" FF 7 style with your drawing style. That mix turns out very well!

No problem, it's sweet and kind of you to comment at all ^w^

Glad you like it so much, I wanted to balance things out by not having too many details to avoid the pic getting completely unclear, but to include as many as there should be. it was a huge challenge, but seeing the positive reaction, I think it was worth it ^^

PS.
