Description
Model: Dee LuvbightLocation: Our new metal bed in our Austin-area home
My summer project was a hand-made steel frame king-sized bed with a cantilevered canopy frame providing an overhead suspension point. After spending over a month cutting, bending and welding, I loaded in onto a flat-bed trailer and drove it 1,400 miles down to our new home.
Although it breaks down into 7 pieces for transport, we hope not to have to move it again anytime soon.

Thanks. The nice thing about a 1200 pound steel bed is that is is rock stable no matter how vigorous the sex.

We'll be making many more (photos). I doubt that I will make another bed.
I made this bed for our new home in Texas, but we won't be moved into there full-time until June 2008.
For now, we commute back and forth between Texas and Pennsylvania, and the moving is seriously cutting into my photographic output.
