I love it when a plan comes together. Last year I scouted Joshua Tree National Park, so when Dee and I were driving around trying to find a good spot to shoot the sunset I knew we could find sun behind this large outcropping.

I'd spent too much time shooting at Cholla Gardens, so we were rushing. The sunset had started when we got there, and the desert floor was already in shadow. I quickly tied a karada on her and she had to climb about 10 feet up the rocks to catch the sunlight.
