Just spotted this by chance when I visited DA a moment ago. I don't normally go in for nude women pics but this is stunning. First of all it's the first time I've really seen anyone do this particular scene like this. You've got the reflection on the underside of the rippling water perfect. The hair is also beautiful and really, the whole thing is refreshing to see. She's not boasting big breasts or a come-hither expression its just... well... innocent and free, friendly and ... pure! It's just beautiful. When I read what you used to make it, I was even more impressed. Brilliant work.

Thank you so much! I love to paint women because I think the female body can be used to tell such great stories: I wanted to invite the viewer to share this feeling of vulnerability and peace and contemplate the notion of existing within and without an environment simultaneously.

So by any chance would you mind my uploading this with something said about the female version of the soldier come diplomat protagonist of the Mass Effect series? [did you see my reply to myself asking this in your comment thread..?]
In particular, I'd associate this with the tragic romance choice. He dies a heroic death, although was diagnosed with a terminal illness before you even meet him in the game. His dying words to her:
"I love you. If all else whispers back into the tide, know this for fact. By grace given me by the Goddess Arashu, I bid her divine protection to you, my warrior-angel, my Siha, to succeed in your destiny. To light your path through the coming darkness. To give you hope, when all seems lost. I will await you across the sea."
Arashu is his goddess of oceans according to his faith. I just think your picture would go especially well with those words, and that story, even though you never knew how perfectly your picture would fit that story. <3 The character - Thane - found much love from the fanbase, many of whom it seems picked him because they themselves knew in real life what it was like to face the loss of a loved one through terminal illness, so I try my best to bring them something emotionally beautiful.

I am wondering though, now having looked through some of your other art pieces, what your fascination is with human copulation with sea species? Usually it's sea monsters or mermaids etc that people draw. Certainly never seen things like octopus or nautilus before, let alone crab! Actually I take that back. There is Japansese tentacle porn (I've never seen it, only heard of it). I suppose the crab may be reference to a specific kind of parasite found on humans? Kinda makes an abstract sort of sense there.
The snail makes sense though. Don't ask me why! Although... you know snails are hermaphroditic right? They'll can 'give and take' simultaneously.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with Mass Effect at all - it's a computer game series where you can play the same character, but chose their appearance, sexuality *and* gender (there's a voice actress for male and female Shepard). Well the now recognised "default" FemShep is a red head, so your picture would go perfectly with a bit of writing about her or from her point of view. I admin a page called Mass Effect Female Shepard you see. Anyway, if you are willing to give permission, please let me know!
