Description
Those who know me and my work will be familiar with my plans to create a new robot, to follow in the static footsteps of Albot Mk I and Mk II. So, this will be Albot Mk III; like his predecessors, he will be completely non-functional, but will have a few points of articulation, and the head will have flashing lights. This is just the skeleton, so all the cosmetic technical details will be added once this most important part is finished.Related content

Then you love a mad old goat! (Who is extremely grateful for that!) Wait until you see it when I have the head and the rest of the body in place....although I'm still rummaging through all the boxes of junk in my house to find suitable components!

The fact that you can build a robot (even if not functional) is worth of utter admiration ahahha

I'm not sure Mrs Goat would concur, but I like it! Have you seen my previous robot? There are a few photos of him in various forms in the Science Fiction and Photography folders of the gallery. I made this one almost 20 years ago...but he couldn't stand on his own two feet, and was supported by a lighting stand!

When I moved house, and started a new life, I had to dismantle him, and throw away the junk from which he was made...You can see why I want another one. I'm so glad you're impressed!

It's mad and quite pointless, but I'm having fun with it. I'm hoping to use the finished robot in photo shoots.

So you are into electronics and robotics, too? That is very cool. You have my interest in your project. Looks like a lot of fun. I can't wait to see how the project progresses.

Well, I'll be honest...this will a non-functioning robot, a cross between a statue and a life-size action figure. The electronics will probably comprise an arrangement of flashing LEDs inside the head. But it is a lot of fun, and I'll be posting more pictures of this as the project progresses...so watch this space!

A piece of adjustable art in progress? I enjoyed your last robots, and I'm eager to see what you come up with here.

The last one was supported on a lighting stand, and the legs were added afterwards - this one stands on its own two feet, and there is a degree of articulation in the knees. And, unlike his ancestors, the arms can be moved by two points of articulation. Once I have this frame completed, I can add all the shiny things and lighty-up things. I know I'm mad, but this is such fun!!

Nice to see you build that new robot. I hope you don't make it too smart or it might question its role.

Heh, you know this sort of thing is a sign you have too much time on your hands, but it gives me an idea for a script I'm working on so thanks!

It's a mixture of that, and impending senility...I should be mending fences, and doing stuff around the house really...and I will, when I've done this. Or, of it comes out really well, I'll just order the robot to do those things.

If it works really well I'll buy one to mow my yard and clean my house and all that rot.

If this one works, you can have it, because if it starts walking about and doing things, I'll be straight down to the Funny Farm!
