Description Two modern, stylized chairs, saved in multiple file formats. Chair01 is a Voronoi lattice surface, and chair02 is a hexagon-paneled chair with solid border frame. I created these for our 3dsmax design class as a project last year. They aren't perfect, but they came out fairly well, and hope you find them useful as props or decorative pieces in your own works**.

Zip file contains the following:

chair01.obj (30,698 vertices, 63,502 faces)
chair02.obj (14,902 vertices, 34,660 faces)
chairs.max
chairs.daz
chairs.jpg

The 3dsmax scene file is compatible with 3dsmax 2012 and above. I collapsed the modifier stacks, but feel free to modifiy them from this point as you see fit, using modifiers or the Graphite modeling tools.

The Daz|Studio file format is compatible with Daz|Studio 4.0 and above, but I have had reports from others that there were problems opening the Daz file for some reason. If this is the case, just import the OBJ files, using the Poser scaling preset in the import dialogue.

While the OBJ files for each chair contains texture coordinates, I did NOT supply any maps or material definitions. This means you may get a warning when importing them that they are missing materials. Just ignore that warning, and they should import fine in most applications. You can create your own textures, but procedural mats work best on these.

Hint: When/if importing the OBJ files in 3dsMax, remember to check "Flip ZY-axis" in the import menu, so they import in the upright position.

**There are no restrictions for render usage, but please do not sell these objects, or redistribute them as your own.

hi, had to look what you`re up to now - these are pretty cool... i wouldn`t hesitate to put the left one into my garden (as long as it`s not made of some razorsharp metal, haha - i just imagine a tom&jerry scetch...)

haha. Thanks very much. These are downloadable too. I often add free downloads to my gallery in .max and .obj formats, so you could use them in your own 3D renders, if you have Blender, 3dsmax, Maya, Cinema4D, or any other 3D application that can use .obj file formats.

you`re welcome... no, i can`t use them in any programme, because i`m not into that 3D art at all... well, i still like to look and i know that you`re making interesting stuff... i also saw an interieur with a wonderful old fashioned lamp - i loved the lamp shade, the way you made it, but the net wouldn`t let me write a comment - so now i do...

I'd sit on these just so I could have a cool pattern imprinted on my butt.

Haha. You could always model some cushions for them if you want.

Thanks! Feel free to use them for anything you might need a chair for. If you have any problems, just let me know. As I mentioned in the description, the only issue I'm aware of is that the .daz file I supplied in the zip isn't working, so if you use DazStudio, just import the .obj using the "Poser" scale preset in the import dialogue. I haven't tested the .obj files with Cinema4D, but if you have a "Poser" preset, use that to import the .obj files there as well.
