I have grown too confident

Lying under fire
Breathing in the ash
Screaming in pain
Underneath the horrid crash
How did it come to this?
How did I lose control?
A burning spectacle
To others I'm a show
The smoke gathers a crowd
Their murmurs become so loud
Some claim they want to help
They just stand and watch me yelp
Vicarious beings
Searching for life's meanings
Through my untimely fate
Entertained by my state
