Description
A bit of self-critique: I'm not sure about the reflections in her eyes and the lighting on her breasts looks funny (mostly when you zoom out the image). Still, I spent hours relighting the scene and I couldn't find anything that would work.
It's also one of these weird cases when I rendered an image for hours to get rid of the noise (well, OK, not just for that, but still) only to add a lot of noise later because it really improves the mood in my opinion
And, by the way, I love Rune 7, so you can expect more of her renders in the near future.

Rune's breasts are crazy unrealistic. The worst in all of DAZdom. And I've noticed DAZ's eye shaders seem to have gotten worse. I use eyes from another package to fix them, but I can't remember which one. I'm pretty sure it comes from DAZ, though. If you have Zev0's Breast Control, you can make them a bit more realistic by spreading them out and giving them some sag.
All that said, I love this image. The expression is appropriately intense. The framing is excellent. The lighting adds to the drama. Great work!

These are not Rune's eyes - I think I used eyes of one of Raiya's characters. The main problem is that there is nothing in front of her other than the light. And yes, I agree, as much as I love Rune, her breasts are... odd. Considering she is supposed to be this warriorish character, I have to wonder where exactly did she get this botched boob job. Probably the same medieval clinic that women from Game of Thrones use

I very much like the lighting on this, with the warm highlights. Eyes also look fine to me, and she has a great "I am going to take you out" expression.

Very Nice, I really like the in your face approach here, makes her look very intimidating, and fierce, the war paint is excellent, all around very well done

Thanks! I spent a while working on her expression so I'm glad it paid off.

Eyes look fine to me and the the lighting on the breasts is fine as well...my eyes seem to be drawn to her lips though, the bump/disp there seems just a little too strong, but that is just me.
Awesome render mate...great work.

Thanks! As for lips, I think I might have overdone the contrast...

Rune looks great in your hands. The light on the breasts doesn’t appear to me being odd. I see what you mean about her eyes though, and it is often a challenge to get the eyes to look right without changing the whole setup. Maybe adjusting eyes surfaces could help: I don’t seem to notice eye moisture surface or any reflections from it, but it could be just me. Nevertheless, beautiful portrait artwork with very appealing lights to accentuate Rune’s features and character!

Thanks, Laspe. I think part of the problem with the eyes is that she is staring at the vast emptiness of space right in front of her, so that the only thing reflected is the light that you can see. And true, I must fiddle with surfaces more, maybe it will help.
BTW, I read your interview on the Other Site Good job!

You absolutely right: there is nothing to reflect except the light. You are very welcome and thank you for the kind words!

Her breasts look fine to me, the lighting I mean. That's also a great prop she is wearing to cover them, individual plates stand out clearly. I suspect you have done a bit of softening and/or blurring manually?

Thanks! The outfit is www.daz3d.com/blood-red-outfit… and it's really cool. I didn't blur anything during post-processing. If anything, it's the opposite - I sharpened the image a bit with local contrast adjustments and whatnot. All the softness/blur is from DOF.

Thanks re the link.
My eyes need checking, I thought I could see a difference in depth from one side to the other.

She looks good to me. I think the lighting is interesting (looks a bit more natural and a bit less staged than most renders). Eyes are often the trickiest part of 3D work... for me at least.
