I really really really liked the movie Hook as a kid but I won't lie...I would watch it for the mermaids! Anything with a mermaid in it was overshadowed by the fishy ladies.The tail used in Hook are by far my favorite prosthetic tails in cinema.

Ditto! I remember finding a great behind the scenes picture of the green mermaid laid out on a table years ago but have trouble finding it now. Such a shame. I'm super curious about the mermaids in the upcoming Pan movie! Especially so as Joe Write was wanting to direct Hans Christan Andersens Little Mermaid before Sophia Coppola picked it up.

There wasn't! Urrgh. I remember finding one behind the scenes photo and that was it outside of the scene itself. Such a shame. I hope there is a huge archive of behind the scene photos and concept art that all these movie studios will release one day. They'd make a killing off it and spark the imaginations of many!

Two votes, right down the line, although the rest of 'Hook' wasn't painful except for Julia Roberts, who was. Actively. I completely agree with you about those tails, they moved so beautifully and caught the light through the water just rights... a moment of truly haunting beauty. Your drawing is wonderful, the contours and lines are perfect, I'm... worried about that last kink before the fin, but she's beautiful and the wonderful art earns you a deserved favorite. Thank you for sharing this!
