Description
This is a picture I did of two rock monsters battling each other in an arena. Here we have a Golem (from Monster Rancher) getting the better of a Rhydon (from Pokemon).Poor Rhydon.

Ahh people need to draw more monster rancher art it is so underlooked. I like your choice of monster too. Do you use him in the game?

I don't really play the games, but I have seen the animated series, which was pretty good. Another season would be nice

Agreeded, well they may but it might be based on the online game that is running at the moment. I really hope not since all the character designs have been dramasically changed. But they also have a DS game feturing the orignal characters. lets hope if they do it is on the later of the two!

Well, I like this version of Golem more than the newer ones, they look better since MR2 was part of my childhood, and the new one looks too simplistic.

Yes. Also, the older ones(Animated Series, and of course MR1 and MR2), have more monsters. Like the Monol which I'd like to point out.(Monol is that wall thing if you don't know) And Gali.
The new ones also lack the original game's fun, as there are lesser monsters to unlock. Still, the new ones are more of the story-mode kinda things.

Also, Monster Rancher games and ideas came before Pokemon did. It and Digimon started in 1995 while Pokemon came around full force after that in 97'98'

And besides, people favor Monster Rancher a lot more because TECMO can make up a batter story then Nintendo could now and days. Also the fact that TECMO really puts more effort into making the Monster Rancher games more then Nintendo could with Pokemon.

I wouldn't say that Monster Rancher is a rip-off of Pokemon. Aside from battling, the two games have their differences:
- Pokemon revolves around trying to get all the monsters on your Pokedex, and travelling around to do so.
- Monster Rancher mainly involves monster breeding. It does not have many species of monster compared to Pokemon. However monsters can be combined to make sub-breeds, i.e. if you combine a Hare + Golem, you get a rocky-looking Hare (I don't know its name).
