Description
It was here in this dreaded place,That he thought his world was over,
But he thought he'd go out with a bang,
Like a blazing supernova,
This was not how he'd imagined it,
It was so empty and cold,
This hell was not what he'd expected,
Not hot like he was told,
But he never believed it anyway,
And the ones above knew that too,
He could not be tricked like the humans,
He only believed what was true,
But it didn't matter anyway,
He had been here many times before,
He'd been sent to spread the message,
To make the humans obey G.O.D's law,
But he was no longer a messenger,
No longer held in high esteem,
He looked up to that high place above,
And it now seemed like a dream,
How could he have so little,
When before he had so much,
Up there he had so much luxury,
But here only dirt to touch,
He felt so very low,
He felt sad and almost sick,
He very nearly cried,
But it turned to anger quick,
He wanted those above to pay,
He burned with hatred and fury,
He would see them all suffer dearly,
He would become their judge and jury,
Now was the time for action,
No more drowning in self-pity,
It was time for him to man-up,
For his world was now dark and gritty,
And if he let his sadness consume him,
Then this cruel place would eat him alive,
But even though he was feeling down,
He hadn't quite lost all his drive,
So he decided to get up and stand,
But his injuries made it tough,
His fall had been a painful one,
And his landing had been quite rough,
But he continued nonetheless,
And wondered where he would go,
The landscape around was rather barren,
It was rocky and full of snow,
But nearby was a rocky mound,
And it wasn't too far away,
It would keep him warmer than this cold place,
Where he definitely couldn't stay,
It was then that he noticed a crevice,
An opening in the wall,
It was a strange sensation he felt,
It was like he had heard a call,
So he continued toward the gap,
Realising it was actually a rather big cave,
The cold was just starting to chill his bones,
But with the warmth in here he was saved,
So he laid down and closed his eyes,
Gently drifting to sleep,
But this time he didn't dream a thing,
Because his rest wasn't that deep,
But when he awoke he felt much better,
More energy and a little less pain,
But once he remembered his situation,
His panic couldn't be contained,
His mind started racing around,
He didn't know what to do,
How long could he survive down here,
With no family, friends or food,
But slowly he calmed himself down,
Realising death couldn't be that bad,
So what if he died down here alone,
In many ways he was glad,
Because he didn't have to die in service,
In service as a pawn and a slave,
Up there he had to be good,
But down here he could misbehave,
He was no longer serving in heaven,
Now he was reigning in hell,
And G.O.D couldn't destroy his optimism,
He was pleased and proud that he fell,
He was now the one in control,
Not like the boring sheep in the herd,
He was the one that was actually different,
And this freedom he greatly preferred,
So what if he'd lost his possessions,
He still had his pride intact,
And they were just material things anyway,
There were plenty more on earth to extract,
That was, in fact, G.O.D's reason,
For coming to this place all along,
To take everything this planet had,
To once again become strong,
He'd always wondered about them,
Why did they actually leave?
But he always knew if he asked them,
That they would just lie and deceive,
He wondered if they had run out,
Of all the resources of their own,
Or if they really were just searching,
For a brand new home,
But if they left their old world,
What was their planet's fate?
Was it over-mined into a wasteland?
Or did it just decline into an unworthy state?
Perhaps it was something more sinister,
Like a severe extinction event,
And maybe the damage was irreversible,
Which drove them into descent,
But one way or the other,
It mattered very little now,
He needed to try and survive in this place,
Even if he didn't know how,
So his mind refocused to the present,
He turned his head and scanned,
There must be something around here,
That can help him survive this land,
It was then that he found something hopeful,
After peering over to the right,
A potential answer had been given,
For another crevice had appeared in sight,
And as he focused into the darkness,
He felt that strange call again,
He wanted to enter the abyss,
But what if it was a creature's den?
He may disturb something dangerous,
Something large with claws,
And he no longer had his armour,
So it was unwise to start any wars,
But he also needed to survive,
And he wouldn't mind a nice warm pelt,
And that was just the fur,
With the leather he could make a belt,
A creature would also have flesh,
Tasty flesh to devour,
There was far more he could gain from this,
So he couldn't hesitate and cower,
But what instrument would he use,
He had no weapons to hand,
All he had around him,
Were rocks, stones and sand,
Either way it was now or never,
For he had nowhere else to go,
And he desperately wanted to see inside,
His curiosity wanted to know,
So he got up very steadily,
And cautiously approached the black,
He was slow but didn't hesitate,
And neither did he look back,
He expected to find something living,
Either that or nothing at all,
But what he found in that dark place,
Was truly well worth the fall,
For after a deep journey inside,
He came across something he couldn't explain,
It was like the height of all reason and truth,
The soul of knowledge, fury and pain,
He didn't know what it was,
But it was large, powerful and red,
He just couldn't understand it,
He wondered if it wanted him dead,
But the truth was, in fact, the opposite,
This thing wanted to be found,
It truly captured his interest,
And he knew that this thing was profound,
He felt a little anxious at first,
He didn't know if it was living or machine,
But he stared into its red aura,
Each moment becoming more keen,
He found it so alluring,
It was beautiful yet dark,
And as he got closer to it,
He noticed a strong red spark,
This thing had now turned on,
It grumbled like a beast,
And like a dragon it woke up,
Ready for its feast,
He then stood back in panic,
Thinking he would be its snack,
But he had already come this far,
Now there was no going back,
He waited for it to finish,
But it just kept on calling him nearer,
And each step forward he took,
Its message became even clearer,
Then, when he was within a few feet,
It flashed red and entered his mind,
Providing him with many strange visions,
And new answers he wanted to find,
So many images in that flash,
It was almost too much to bear,
Perhaps if he'd had a weaker mind,
He may have died then and there,
But the pictures just kept coming,
They didn't make sense at all,
Pictures of the great cosmos,
Things that made him feel small,
But it was the other things that he saw,
Like the reptilian machines,
That interested him the most,
Depicted in warlike scenes,
Could this be the answer he sought?
The answer he needed to win?
But even if it was the answer,
His resources were stretched too thin,
How could he even start?
He had absolutely nothing left,
All the things he owned were taken,
It was a truly unfair theft,
But this thing had even more answers,
He saw images of himself win,
He saw himself reign over all,
He saw pictures of himself as king,
"But how!?" he demanded to it,
"How do I claim my throne!?
I am stuck in this desolate place!
I have nothing and I'm all alone!"
But just then more images appeared,
It burned pictures into his brain,
Then he saw his true purpose,
He saw power, fury and pain,
Maybe that was the answer,
Fury and pain made him strong,
Now he didn't need any more answers,
He had what he needed all along,
But what were those mechanical lizards?
Those serpents of the cybernetic kind?
Perhaps this was really why G.O.D was here?
Perhaps this is what they tried to find?
Or maybe it was even worse,
It was the other answer he looked for,
Why G.O.D left their old planet,
Perhaps they were a victim of war,
And perhaps it was these serpents,
That actually hunted G.O.D down,
But perhaps learning from these creatures,
Was the key to taking his crown,
But he didn't ever want to find them,
For these were things he didn't want to cross,
And if they'd found life on this planet,
His whole species could be lost,
All of this was far too much,
He now had to stop and think,
He was now weighed down with so much thought,
He might actually start to sink,
He had to now refocus,
He had to regain control,
This was a lot to take in,
But at least now he had a goal,
And even though he didn't find food,
He at least found shelter and hope,
This was just enough to get him by,
Enough to help him cope,
But just then he noticed something,
As if outside he'd heard another call,
So he went outside and looked up at the sky,
And realised he wasn't alone after all,
For up there in those dull grey clouds,
He felt hopeful at what he saw,
But to find out what it was he witnessed,
Stay tuned for part four...
