You're not stupid at all! Haiku are a Japanese form of poetry that conforms to syllabic restrictions; the first and third lines are five syllables and the middle line is seven. Traditionally, they have to be about nature and really aren't supposed to include any other poetic devices like metaphor/simile or anything relating to humans, but they've expanded into being about a variety of topics as their popularity has grown in other regions of the globe.
