When I was little I was chased by the worst kind of monster on a road filled with my tears and endless pain.
But you found me on that day, slayed that monster, and lifted me high on the shoulders of a gentle iron giant.
We've done so much since then. We healed, laughed, learned, dreamed and prayed that soon all the monsters would go away.
No category storm blew us down, no tragedy tore us apart. We loved like family in a world of loss.
I am no longer little, and the monsters are not quite so big, yet you remained the giant of gentle souls.
Alas, now I walk without you. But I take comfort that you have shown me the way to go.
And, deep within me, my heart whispers, "If I follow this path, perhaps I'll meet you again someday."
