Description
Victoria Simone knew she was dead, the bullet slid in right in between the eyes. However at that moment it felt as though she was still alive. Alive and yet, floating? She found herself surrounded in darkness, it black silkiness seemingly caressing around her. She felt like she couldn’t even see her own hand right in front of her eyes. Frightened she paused for a moment before suddenly someone spoke.‘Wake up Victoria, it’s time for you to fight.’
Wake up? FIGHT? Does this woman by the sound of things not realize she’s dead or something? “Yeah, very funny. Maybe if you pull the bullet out of my head first.”
‘This is no joke Victoria, your time has come.’
Suddenly a heaping helping of oxygen came to her, breathing it in the darkness gave way to a hospital. She paused for a moment, to scared to think of any possibilities as she looked around. Indeed she was in a patients room. The window still showing darkness outside. What the Hell just happened? Remembering what happened she quickly brought her hand up to her forehead. It felt completely fine. But still that strangely wasn’t made her worried. It was the weird fact her forehead felt like rubber, like rubbing the side of a balloon. She gasped a little to herself, but slowly started to relax a little. Somehow she has just survived a gunshot to the head. She was fucking bullet proof baby!
However she heard the door nearby opening, quickly snapping her out of a good mood. Thinking on a whim she laid back in bed, faking sleep. “Alright gentlemen she’s right in here like you requested.” A nervous voice came into the room saying. It sounded like a collection of feet entering the room. Quietly she figured it was around three people. “Thank you Dr. Kilbrough. Would you please leave the room now?” “Um… yes of course.” “Thank you, oh and Doctor. If you tell anyone that Victoria was even in this hospital, or that we were here. Expect to have some visitors come to your house. Understood?” “Um… yes… yes I do.” “Good.” The door was quickly closed, it was most likely the doctor as now she could feel the presence of the two people coming around her. “Ah there she is, number seven.” A female voice spoke. “Yep, defiantly Ms. Simone. Let’s go ahead and send the higher ups the message.” The male voice replied as a radio beep came in. “HQ this is agent 72, we’ve found Ms Simone and will be bringing her in. Her bullet wound has apparently healed and…” Victoria tried desperately not to wince when she felt two gloved fingers on her neck. “She indeed has a pulse.” Scared as all can be Victoria was internally panicking.
‘God I could sure go for another one of those miracles right about now!’
Meanwhile Outside…
Three men approached the hospital, each dressed up in various clothes as the man in the middle pulled out a piece of paper. “Let’s see... Victoria should defiantly be here. It says here she was suppose to have died an hour ago.” He said reading the paper. He had a clearly tropical vibe to him as he had lightly tanned skin, short black hair with blonde spiked tips. A tan colored button up over a white t, loose jeans, and a pair of flip-flops on his feet. “Alright Alex, Evan, we may get hostility here, because it looks like they might’ve shown up first.” “In case you haven’t noticed Lue, all we’ve had is hostility.” Evan responded calmly. Hands shoved into his ‘Team Quest’ hooded sweatshirt. The last of the three, huddled up in a sweatshirt of his own desperately trying to stay warm. “Yeah can we just get on with this shit? I’m starting to feel my balls freeze up.” Alex stated, shivering from the cold. Evan and Lue just peered over at him, each with a raised eyebrow. “Dude, too much information.” Evan just stated in that smooth, quiet demeanor of his. “Let’s just do this…” Lue interrupted to simply get the situation going.
Evan walked slowly though the hospital, noting every little detail about people who were acting suspiciously. He spotted two near the elevators who looked like CIA agents, so he tried to avoid them going up to the counter. “Hi I’m here to see a Victoria Simone, I’m her older brother Jacob.” He said simply, the receptionist, an old haggard woman who just looked up at him, gum in her mouth being chewed. “Alright then, let me take a look.” She said in a clearly fake friendly tone. She checked the computer carelessly before looking back at Evan. “I’m sorry there doesn’t appear to be a Victoria Simone who has checked in at this hospital. Perhaps you have the wrong address.” She said before going back to her magazine. Evan just looked at her, reaching into his sweatshirt pocket to pull out a couple of hundred dollar bills, folded up and held together with a rubber band. “Are you sure about that? I’m quite sure she’s staying at this hospital.” He said, as he slid the money right in front of the receptionist. She looked at the money, then over at the two people next to the elevators before leaning in on Evan. “Alright now pay attention…” She said quietly and cautiously. “Victoria is staying in room number 731 on the seventh floor. Now I don’t know why you care about her since your clearly not family, but theirs CIA agents trying to take her away. I don’t know why but theirs about ten of them here….” Evan gave her a friendly nod. “Alright mam I guess I do have the wrong hospital.” Evan spoke out loud, “Well thanks anyway.” He strolled away, mentally remembering the room number, floor, and how many CIA people she counted.
“Man I’m still amazed you have that much money just laying around in your wallet.” Alex mentioned to Lue, shaking his head as they both stayed outside the hospital. “I mean shit, if I had that much I’d be buying up all the booze and broads I could.” He stated with a sly smirk. Lue just peeked over at him. “I’m sure you would….” Just then Evan made his return, looking around before approaching the other two. “Alright the lady said she in room number 731 on the seventh floor. Also she mentioned that she counted ten agents. Although by the sound of things theirs probably a few more.” Evan stated looking at both Lue and Alex. Lue took a moment to think about a plan before giving Alex’s arm a slight poke. “Alright you go ahead and go up to the seventh floor, find Victoria and get her, me and Evan will deal with the agents. Got all that?” Lue asked to Alex’s eyes rolling. “Yes captain my captain. Seriously your acting like this is some game of chess or some shit. Let’s just go crack some skulls in, save the princess, and be on our way.” Just then Alex’s body began to float upwards, hovering in midair as he threw up the hoodie on his sweatshirt. “I mean come on, we kick ass… it’s what we do and are good at doing.” With that he soared up into the air. Counting the floors he went past. Evan and Lue watched for a moment before glancing over at one another. “You think his aware of how much of an idiot he is?” Lue asked as Evan simply looked back, smirked, and shook his head silently.
‘Fifth floor, sixth floor, seventh floor. Here we are. Burn victims, cancer patients, and people who have come back from the dead.’ Alex thought as he floated in front of a random window. Peeking inside for a quick moment he floated back a little before with a grunt slamming though the Plexiglas like it wasn’t there. Rolling out of it he hopped back up immediately, wiping himself off of the material when he heard a gasp and “Oh wow Alex Carter Smith!” He looked over to see a small sickly kid in the hospital bed. “Dude you’re the coolest freestyle moto-X rider of them all! …Wait how did you get up here?” Alex just looked at the little boy for a moment, grimacing and panicking for an excuse. “Um hey thanks… I was uh… doing a stunt show nearby and I guess one of my tricks went bad. But hey thanks!” Alex then quickly ran out of the room, right past the now seriously confused boy. Slamming though the hospital door he looked over and a group of five CIA agents. All decked out in those black and white suits that look so… dumb. “Shit it’s him!” One of the agents yelled as Alex smiled. “Yeah it’s me!” He shouted back as all five agents came after him. Popping his knuckles Alex got ready for a little fisticuffs.
“I repeat Alexander Carter Smith is up on the seventh floor and is fighting his way into Ms. Simone’s hospital room.” The walkie talkie warned as both agents on the first floor looked at one another, only to see one appear to get kicked in the jaw. Suddenly flashing back into visibility Evan turned around and grabbed the other agent by the throat. Hoisting him into the air before slamming him back down. He looked at the two before Lue came up next to him. They clicked seven on the elevator button and then waited.
Hearing a slamming from nearby momentarily made Victoria forget she was faking sleep and she stood up in the bed. “What the fuck? Oh shit!” She then realized her mistake and tried to get out of bed to escape. Only to find herself stumbling into the blanket. Fear turning simmering rage she fought with the blanket until suddenly she got it off, by way of her arm stretching up to the ceiling with it. 5 feet, 7 feet, finally her hand slamming into the ceiling 9 feet above. She stared at her arm petrified. Then over to the two CIA agents who were worrying about the man outside before seeing her and looking on in shock. Suddenly her arm shot back to it’s normal length. She couldn’t help in her confusion to simply just look on at her now normal arm until suddenly she scared back into reality.
An agent smashed open the door into her hospital room as the two remaining agents tried to defend themselves only to both get knocked out by Alex. Victoria let out a scream and tried to back away from the newcomer. “Hey hey, easy girl I’m on your side.” Alex stated backing up slightly and holding up his hands to prove his not hostile. “NO JUST GET AWAY FROM ME YOU FUCKING PSYCHO!” Victoria curled up and tried to think of a way out of this mess. “Hey Alex backup has… arrived…” Lue came up to the entrance of the room, tip toeing over the unconscious bodies. “Jesus not one to waste time are you?” He asked as he came into the room. “Hey you know me sunshine, I’m a hands on type of guy.” Alex replied as he looked back at the scared Victoria. Lue saw her scared, curled up expression and approached slowly. “Listen, I know it clearly doesn’t seem like it. But me and him are here to save you. We don’t want to harm you. Please, just come with us.” He said to her as he held out a hand. Victoria’s breathing slowed momentarily, as she exchanged her glance between Lue’s hand and Lue himself. Hand, Lue, hand, Lue, finally she reached out and grabbed it. “Just get me out of here now!” She mumbled as she got helped out of bed by Lue. Realizing she had a hospital gown on she looked around. “Dammit I’m going to need something to wear.” She said to herself before seeing her clothes on a counter. She strolled over to get it before realizing there were two guys in the same room. “Um you guys mind…” Both Lue and Alex paused trying to figure out what she was asking until Lue realized. “Oh yeah, sure thing.” He stepped out of the room and stopped, grabbing Alex’s arm who wasn’t going anywhere and yanking him out of the room. “Hey I wasn’t going to stare or anything!” Alex said as he got dragged out with the door being closed behind him.
