But other times he was exulted for his rare and unnatural silver mane and tail and splashy markings. Ryleah often had to provide proof of his purity before he would be accepted into the showring, proving his pedigree at the sign up booth.

Where the silver gene had come from, no one knew. But his mother had come from a reputable ranch, and his grandsire was a pure bred champion.

Luckily his color would mean nothing in the show jump arena.
