Description
Ballycarbery Castle, near Caherciveen (County Kerry, Ireland) has first been built around 1398. The current ruins are the remains of the 16th century building that replaced the original building. Sometime in the 20th century it was demolished.For more detail on the castle look here:

Interesting - both of these. Just scans from slide film? No Photoshop? There's an intriguing outer glow around the edges of the castle... I like the effect, however it came to be.

Not much - contrast, sharpening and noise-removal - I guess the glow is in part a result from the sharpening.
