Description
Firstly: This is not a macro in the typical sense, but in my opinion this photogram fits here much better than in the classical darkroom category. The magnification is roughly 10 times between the photogram and the original.
False color due to process that used a) old color paper, and b) the filters on the color enlarger employed for this photogram.
Subject is a maple seed (I think it belongs to the Sycamore Maple aka Bergahorn aka Acer pseudoplatanus).
The seed was placed between 2 glass plates in the negative holder, and then illuminated by the enlarger.
The title should be obvious if you look at it and use a little bit of imagination - at least to me it closely resembles an elephant's proboscis.

Postwork: Dust removal, minor curves and levels to make the scan resemble the original closer.
