This is awesome. It reminds me a bit of the Surak Class ships from Star Trek, but with a much more complex shape.

Admittedly, I was thinking a little about some of the Vulcan ships when I made this ship.

Well you did a good job of capturing what makes the Vulcan ships cool, while also making it unique.

The ring has to do with the ship having an Alcubierre drive. So it's part of the ships FTL drive. The sub-light drives are at the very back between the small fins, and maneuvering thrusters are spread about as well.

Pretty much. At least not at FTL speeds. It could still run at STL speeds however.
