"I'm sorry Fella.. I have to go. You know that. I'd love to stay but its just not my choice. I have to. Who knows. Perhaps things will work themselves out..."

The yellow alien felt a strange pressure in his throat and behind his eyes as he heard Fellas' reply, a long mournful beep that dropped in pitch the longer it resounded.

Jark steeled himself to the sight of his best friend, his creation, still standing in the foyer of the deviantART offices, Jarks' recently presented gift at Fellas' feet, the birthday card he had just given him for his 5th birthday still in his hand. With an effort, he picked up his briefcase containing the last of his effects from his old office, took a deep breath, adjusted the probe strapped to his back and turned towards the large glass doors leading to the outside world.

From behind him issued a series of frantic chirrups, followed by the sound of Fellas' large feet shuffling in desparation on the foyers' cold floor.

Jark stopped.

Swallowing difficultly, he turned to face his friend once more. Fellas' eyes were locked on him, large dark eyes full of desparation. As he watched, large, watery tears started to appear in Fellas' eyes, before dropping to the cold floor, a small puddle quickly forming.

The yellow alien finally broke. His throat ached and his own hot tears finally released and fell as he dropped his head. The sounds of the distant staff party rumbled in the quietness of the moment.

Fella, trying his hardest to accept the situation, watched for some sign that it was all a strange joke. He wanted, with his whole being, for the yellow alien to stay. His common sense told him though, that there was really nothing he could do.

"Don't be sad for me, Fella", Jark tried to joke, 'I'll still visit. Someone has to keep you in line, eh?"

He waved back, his heart(s) thumping in his chest.

"Goodbye my friend..."
