She was getting on the bus, not too far from that horrid little seafood restaurant the tourists seem to think is the end-all be-all of this pathetic town's cuisine. I tried eating there once, but it tasted like mall food so I fed it to whatever seagulls were hungry enough to eat it. I saw her, looking lonely as usual, alone, nothing but her ubiquitous coffee and cell phone to keep her company. I wonder why she allows herself to be so lonely, what she's left behind, and why she seems so intent on keeping it in her past. Her life has been a celebration of friends, based on the photos I saw when I was in her apartment, and she certainly was never lacking in the friend department.

I couldn't imagine what that would be like. How you can share yourself with so many people. I imagine you'd spread yourself quite thin in order to make everyone happy.
