Edward and Bella are back, finally!!
(Still playing around with the designs a bit. Does anyone else think that there's a bit of Kristen Stewart in my Bella...? Not intentional, I swear!!)
It'll soon be a year since I first read Twilight and New Moon
(and there are still so many pictures I've been meaning to draw, whaaaaa) I think the fact that *kara-lija recently discovered the series (and if you've never seen her stuff, GO NOW!!) has reawakened my love for it -- not that it had ever truly gone, of course not. So I suddenly fancied drawing Edward and Bella yesterday and I tried to make it warmer than my usual stuff and... hmm, I was about to say 'sexy' but there's nothing remotely sexy about this one... I don't know what the deal is with Edward's expression. Maybe he's about to kiss her...? (She's waiting for it!!)Anyway, this is for all the Twilight fans who watch me, but more particularly *kara-lija and =LightSeeker
Title from "Blackout" by Muse. Refers to Edward's feeling/fears (or something like that).
PS: No, I can't leave those textures and gradients alone. I tried. I did.

I didn't know many Muse songs until I read the books and saw the songs Stephenie Meyer had used as her playlists. But yes, that band sure seems to fit these two. And I actually used Sing for Absolution for my picture of Edward's "suicide" scene from New Moon.

Yay, if you recognised it then it means I don't draw them completely different each time
And I'm actually really happy with the casting so far. I turned into a rabid fangirl when the Cullen family pictures were released, and I think Kirsten Stewart looks like a great Bella. In fact, I'm re-reading Twilight at the moment, and last night when I was reading the scene in the Italian restaurant in Port Angeles, in my mind I could actually see Kirsten and Robert, and it only made me squee even more

Lol yeah the promo pics were awesome! I think Robert will make a really great Edward, and Kirsten fits the role really well. I actually prefer them over everybody's Gaspard/Emily dream team (i never really got that..?)

I never understood the whole Gaspard/Emily thing either. I mean he's all right, but as far as I'm concerned she's completely wrong for Bella. I wasn't too sure about Robert to start with, but he's definitely my Edward now

Oh I don't know, Gaspard is cute but he's just not Edward. Robert fits the role much better IMO, and Kirsten too! She's a much better Bella than Emily, I think it's the tall and slender thing vs short and petite. I just never imagined Bella as baby-faced as Emily is.

Thank you!! That's thanks to a technique I learned some time ago: once I'm done, I merge the layers for the lines and the colour, then duplicate that one layer, blur it and reduce the opacity. I love the softer feeling it creates.
