was a challenge and a half.

To me, making a splash has an element of wickedness......shock, outrage and the ability to be larger than life seems to predominate in the sentiment. Fortunately for me, all of these qualities are dear to Kit's heart, and it wasn't too hard to wedge her into a position that showed them off.....

This piece was inspired by a series of 50s pinups my good friend Reuben lent me as study material for this round. Kit has boundless self confidence, which allows for absolutely no shyness when it comes to bikinis - but neither is she particularly fond of scanty underwears. so a marriage of compromise was born - i chose this swimsuit because it combined practicality, support and feminism with the toughness that is so essentially Kit. I attempted softshading, to create a sense of smoothness and tranquility.....with the colouring, the cool forest scenery and the subject matter, this should have been a demure little piece.

But then again, it's Kit.

When authority demands the subject smile and look pretty, you're most likely to find Kit hoicking water out of her ear and digging her swimsuit out of her bum. Modesty comes second to necessity, or is completely forgotten. And i liked the concept of yakuza tattoos on her.....or at least, stylized western ideas of yakuza tattoos. they look bitchin', which is all that matters.

They're probably just painted on.
