To be honest, I always had this problem until I got some really nice colored pencils for Christmas. Try using Prismacolor brand (worth the price) and pushing down a little bit when you color

i do >: i have watercolor, verithin, and soft prismacolors. haha /: i guess i just have to work on my technique

That's okay! No one starts out making masterpieces. Practice makes perfect I wish you luck perfecting your technique c:
