Colonel Azzameen was trying but apparently had no results.. I believe that DS would only keep the ambient setting of the prop but not the indirect lighting effect.

Not sure if they've implemented any type of indirect lighting in DS.

I don't think they did
however I was wondering if that can be exported into a poser it if would still have the same effect even if DAZ doesn't have indirect lighting?

If Daz has spot lights you can achieve the same effect though its more of a pain. You should be able to position spotlights and parent them to the hull. And tinkering with the angle and distant end dials, should be able to get the beauty light affect.
I'm not up to date on DS. But you'd think the latest would have light emitting and indirect lighting effects.

Well I have a problem with the spot light the light will go straight through the model and nothing I have tried has worked
and even through all I have ever used id DAZ I wouldn't know where to look or what to do if it does have indirect lighting

I know the feeling, I've used nothing but Poser and have no Idea how DS works. At thisΒ point you might want to ask colonel Azzaween who is a Daz user and has been experimenting with trying to get the effects.
Sorry for not being much of a help.

You're very welcome.
Your method there definitely beats trying to set Poser lights in place to get the same effect

Spent an hour lining up lights for a lightsaber blade.
May try your way, with a lozenge instead of the ball cone

Also you can make the blade itself emit light.

Blade's part of the saber prop, so that may bot be an option.
I'll give your other idea a try, though, if the lozenge doesn't work

If using poser you should be able to make the blade material Ambient, in the material room

or a cylinder the length of the saber should produce some nice effect. Crank up the ambient but use a color texture map noded to the ambient color. I've notice that just changing the Diffuse doesn't seem to work when cranking up the ambient. It tends to turn white.

Just checked, and the newest DAZ Studio Pro doesn't seem to have indirect lighting in the render settings.
But what can you expect from a program you got for free?

ya think they would. Makes me wonder if its one of the many plug-ins

Then again I can't seem to find any documentation on indirect lighting in DS. Bummer

For light emitting props in DS you have to apply Uber Area light presets to a surface, that may be on a prop or figure regardless. For Indirect Lighting you have three different options in Uber Environment, under "Environment Mode". It's just not on the render settings panel. But it doesn't necessarily translates exactly from poser, I use occlusion with directional shadows and it still shows area lights. I suppose many different combinations are possible.

Uber Environment? What's that?

It's a light shader, it used to be a plugin but it comes standard with DS since 4.0 I believe [link]

Well, I found a rendering option to go with scripts. Maybe indirect lighting is one of them.
I'll check.
