Description
This is the vest I'm going to be making for my Advanced Apparel Construction (AD 303) class final project. We're to have at least 3 techniques that we learned in class incorporated in this project. So I'm going to have and Edge-to-Edge lining (lining covers entire inside of garment), piping going around all edges and the double breasted face, and welt button holes (no better way to finish a button hole.... no slower way to do it either).I'm going to make it out of 24oz canvas for the outside and a nice smooth twill for the inside. I don't have enough buttons, so I'll also go looking for a dozen 1"-1 1/2" diameter buttons.
It's not due for another month, but I'm already working on the pattern. After I finish the pattern then I'll order the canvas and then get constructing it as soon as I can.
I got the idea for the design from ~DavidRapozaArt [link] Just changed it up a little to fit the requirements.

Damn. I have no idea what any of those techniques are...but they all sound complicated and time consuming. you are very good at what you do. :3 I barely have the patience to sew sleeves onto things. XD

I'm not quite so keen on the extra-long front, but I love the back view. The inset looks great; it really emphasizes the shape of the whole piece. Plus, I like topstitching. ^_^

hahaha! Yeahhhh... Well, it was either welt pockets or welt button holes... and there's not much room for pockets, sooo.... and it doesn't help that I'm going to be making them out of the 24 oz canvas either, that should be interesting.

Actually, I was thinking more like vegetable ivory... or copper... or something. IDK yet.
For a feminine version... I think just adding more of a bust to the chest would do it. other then that it'd prolly be the same.
