#FunFact !# Do you guys know why the male lions have that bushy fur (mane) around their necks?
Two reasons: To protect their necks from bites from other male lions while fighting, and because it's a way for the female to find the healthiest and strongest lion to mate with, to further the strong genes and hopefully keep the species great and strong. A thick, dark mane means strength, health and good fighting skills, while the opposite naturally means the opposite.
