Was busy with a portrait the other day and it was so atrocious that I erased it. I hate wasting paper so I had to think of something dark to cover the portrait with when I thought the big B would be perfect for that. Came across some wonderful artwork of a gentleman called Greg Capullo (
).This is his image that I used for reference

The end result was mostly charcoal with a little graphite and some pastel.
Regrettably I cannot seem to get a proper picture of it now matter how I photograph it. I am well happy with it although there are some mistakes but it just looks so damn cool LoL

i use my fingers too. usually on larger sections of a drawing and just use the stub for detailed areas. it looks like theres a spot light hitting batmans face. ha. nice work mannnn

Only recently started using paper stubs for blending on graphite, this whole thing was done with charcoal and the cape with pastel so blended with a piece of cotton wool and me fingers hehehe

Ah, loves it!!! I'm still in awe of the helmet, the grin turned out fabulous and I think the mood of the whole piece is spot on. So you decided not to add the moon? I didn't have time to comment on that, as I just found your message a minute ago. It looks perfect to me like this.

Well aim trying to rush as many portraits as possible and would like to do my own version of bats some time, then i'll go all out on it

i like it, maybe little black on head to get same dark that there is on back. but it is really nice

yeah i didnt have enough charcoal to do everything in the same colour so had to use pastel for the shoulders and cape BUT it looks really good in real life, the pics my blackberry takes looks really crap LoL
