Very nice design, Mark!
I'm a sucker for a great ink drawing. Nice abstraction and mark making. I am not very good with ink drawing so I appreciate people who know what they're doing.

Not so much a critique as an alternative treatment to consider should you revisit the theme---

I wonder what you might do with this theme, if you placed the elephant in a larger composition with some blank paper beneath the hoisted pachyderm to indicate that it is indeed off the ground.

Widening the composition would also allow that nice curve of the trunk to be seen in full which I think would be a nice contrast to the verticality of the piece.

Food for thought, though I do like what you've done here.

This is my first comment on Deviant! Woot!

Thank you for the thoughts. I'm happy to be your first.

With these pictures I deliberately made pictures that would fit in some super-cheapo frames that my wife picked up at the local big-box. That way they are framed and they are gone. I have them at a local consignment shop, although I don't know that any have sold. I should post some of my larger work, just for a little perspective.

Yours,
Frankly.

Good thought on the standard size frames.
I mat my work to fit standard frame sizes so that either I or my customer can handle the task at a low cost without the need for custom framing ( ch-ching!)

I've become interested in consignment shops recently, but I would have to come up with images that share broader appeal than my usual illustrative fare.

I'd enjoy seeing your larger works as well. sir.
