yeah you should be : )    ...on that note since the referendum I've been cheering myself up by re-reading every banks and IMbanks novel... really nice to revisit them again .. . been so long that I had forgotten the plots of a few.. i'm just finished against a dark background.. looking forward to feersum endjinn// I love the language in it.

Just finished 'Stonemouth'; good sense of local menace, but a bit on the bleak side imho.  
I want a monowheel!! Recently reread 'Excession' for the nth time - still enjoyed it!
'Feersum Endjinn' was seriously weird - the lingo did take some getting used to - but a brilliant read!

I liked Stonemouth, a better book than dead air, more himself... , funny.. I lived in aberdeen for a few years and had friends from Stoney .. . it seemed quite close to the bone in many ways. 
Yeah a mono like that would be the thing at mach 2 down the beach ! I loved how he subtly referenced the first chapters glass beach at that point..nicely done. ... . i am truly enjoying them ... my youngest has become addicted to minecraft in all its guises and has realised the benefits of my fast pc so I have been somewhat relegated to the bookshelves anyway.. .. can't wait until we can afford a laptop for her!
