They were a jerk to Asriel in the time they knew him, forcing him to agree to something he was hesitant on and didn't want to do. And in a Genocide run, took delight in the eradication of the world for no other reason than they like killing people.
I don't care if people think they climbed the mountain to get away from humans, if it was just humans they didn't like then they'd have no reason to delight in the torment and deaths of monsters, ESPECIALLY in the case of Asriel, who saw them like a sibling.
There are ways to make likeable villains, and I'm not saying other people can't like Chara, but for me personally, I LOATHE Chara.
