I adore it. Very striking. Very mysterious. A fine addition to a self-portrait series because we so rarely see ourselves with clarity.
I agree about the slight distraction of the flashpoint, but that's a minor quibble I have no right to complain about given my limited tech skills.

I love the effect of the pattern being refracted by the light so that there is this illusion of bending... which adds to the feeling of being trapped and being closed in.
And yet - however uncomfortable the feeling is of being trapped, the photograph seems to reveal some anticipation of release/escape/freedom because of the body language. The hands pressing outwards suggest a strong desire for it.
Technically, I think this is another positive achievement. It looks as if it must have been challenging to make the image and the black, white and grey tones not only reveal exactly the right amount of detail, but they also add much to the atmosphere of the work...

when i first saw the thumbnail i thought this was pretty cool ... and now that i see it full size i was right the tones are great ... the expression and concept is really cool

very cool experimental shot, this is my type of photography!! The only thing i dont like about it is the large amount od "middle" grey... it takes away a lot of contrast, dulls the message of the piece, and seems to make the grain stand out more. Also the flash point on the right side draws my attention to there as opposed to the face in the center... this is a really cool idea mate, you just gotta get some technical stuff out of te way. Nice attempt though
