Description
Search And Rescue Corvettes are basically repurposed Fleet Defense Corvette space frames, which are extensively modified and upgraded with new engines. The ships are stationed at several strategic locations in the inner solar system and the Jupiter system.______________
Done in Sketchup 3D / Photoshop. Thanks for 600+ faves guys!
This is my very first attempt to create a cutaway image of a spaceship, using my very first 3D design attempt from 2007 as a basis.Β www.deviantart.com/marrekie/arβ¦

Nicely done, I was confused at first about the decks layout untill I noticed I had to tilt my orientation 90Β° to notice the back wall is actually the floor, in the end it actually makes sence.

Maaaan this is so detailed. It's so awesome. My favorite details have to be the horizontally-oriented living areas and the drone launcher. (You always thing of the decks being arranged vertically and drones stored in some type of bay, but this just make so much more sense!)

Interesting design.Β I like the detail.Β Not sure about putting aux hydrogen storage right in the middle of the crew zones.Β You do appreciate the danger.Β I see double bulkheads, but the explosion from a ruptured hydrogen tank could cut the crew off from the hibernating astronauts, the docking port the crew would need for escape, and oxygen storage.Β Also both the hydrogen and oxygen tanks have no protection from cascading failure.Β One tank blows, there's nothing to stop it from taking all the others with it.Β That said, I appreciate the need for forward hydrogen storage.Β It would be needed to run aux power in case of any number of catastrophic problems that take out main power.

I was a little concerned.Β You never know how welcome well-intentioned constructive criticism will be.Β
One last question: Does the ship's life support make use of the O2 tanks?

Would you want the O2 closer to the habitable areas?

Search and Rescue, meaning it has good sensors and plenty of room and medical support.
Like, say, an insertion craft or security cutter! But totally for civilian use, of course.
