Pastel on Potpouri PaperMerlin played by Colin Morgan from BBC's Merlin
I will not be defeated by a face... even if it takes five times to do. I think the reason I refused to give up was probably becuase I feel merlin is already totally overshadowed in the show, that I had to do him justice at least on DA.
Merlin: See doesn't that suit me so much better than the last one.

I think it looks fantastic but the eye on the right seems too small. The eyes on the left [farther] away would seemingly be the smaller one...just sayin' ;D It still looks great though! And Merlin needs way more love!!

yeah he was squinting with the eye on the right more and I took the photo before I did the final details on the left one, where I took out some of the white in his left eye, Don't worry, If I get around to it some day I might put up the final copy....

I have to ask, and I really try not to ask this, how did you do it? How long did it take? Did you sketch it out in pencil first?

Well, Its lightly sketched out in pencil, then I block out all the large forms in colour. Do the midtones firstn then the highlights and last the shading. Finally adding in all details last, which are easier to place with the basic face shape fully fleshed out.
