Description
Hey guys,I made this karambit when I was playing a lot of cs-go. I usually try to make atleast one prop from every game I play. And beforehand I was on the verge of buying an actual karambit. But in the end I decided to build a training karambit first. Thinking of how I would slice of my fingers if i hadn't trained with a dull one first.
Step by step:
The handle is as always, made from hard oak. I cut them out and glued the three pieces together, I sanded the inside of the ring so it'll feel a bit nicer on my fingers. When that was done I put a light coat of lacquer on. On the spots where I put my palm and fingers I glued in a rubber. This kind of rubber is called Ninjaflex and can be bought in strips at some hardware stores. I cut out a piece of aluminium for the blade. I didn't sharpen it and I didn't cut a point on the end on purpose. I chose aluminium because when you drop it (and believe me, you will a lot) it won't break. Of course steel doesn't break either. But aluminium can be bent back in to shape with only your hands.
As a fun little side thingy, I dremmeled a protractor into the shape of a karambit blade. Both the blades can slide in and out, and are fastened with blunt screws. It loks quite good and funny to swing at peopl...
I hope you like it and I hope you've learned something.
Do enjoy
