It doesn't get much more street that this! An everyday moment (in your part of the world) with beautifully executed cameraman-ship: Great compo, nice subdued light, beautiful structure in the pants that give a nice sense of purpose. The details are exquisite and make me think that either you have an amazing camera or that you really know your post-processing stuff. The towel adds a bit of color and interest to the photo. Your color signature is amazing and I recon hard to achieve. The subtle vignette adds a bit of mystery and depth to the photograph.
Simple, yet very powerful!!!
Well done.

Haha, no amazing cameras were used or abused in the making of this picture.
Still rocking the same old "shitty" Canon sadly.
Sincere thanks for the wonderful review, my friend!Β

Khuram, you have the memory of an elephant, but as I said before, I never really meant that your camera was truly shitty. Just look at the amazing results you manage to pull out from that box!!!!

This is a nice composition: you got a good framing of the subject, there is a strong contrasting colour that serves as a focus, there is a clear geometrical shape to rest the eyes on.
Despite this it it lacks impact, which is surprising.
I can think of a few things: the gaze of the man points into a big blank space, so the natural reaction to follow the gaze doesn't end on a strong focus. Instead the eye wanders off a hand has to be forcefully moved back to the man.
The bottom fifth is actually quite dark compare to the rest, so that when you look at the face of the man, the dark regions below intrude subtly and make the colours of the picture feel less lively. I feel that the image is markedly more lively if I cover the picture starting from his feet.
The man is very close to centered (but not quite), and not on one of the thirds that usually make a photo more dynamic. Centered images can be interesting too, but here there is an asymmetry between the two sides that I think impacts it negatively.
Despite the symmetrical framing I think this photo will be improved by a cropping that moves the man clearly off center, because then the area ahead of him will turn into a "pure space", instead of an area that might contain a strong focus.

Wait a second, I didn't comment on this one? Well, what excellent timing Β I admit that I was drawn here by another critique by, um, someone above on another photo you submitted today
, which he said sucked or something. So, I think I will address HIS critique of this photo here..because you are just too damn polite, KMan! I'll post it here where nobody gets all bent out of shape or deflated or anything
Β OK- #1- the gaze of this man points into blank space? Well, nooo- he's looking at the tire! I mean has this guy never rolled a tire anywhere? One has to look at the damn thing or it rolls away into oncoming traffic or people or.. somewhere
#2, # 3, #4- the bottom 5th is quite dark, the man is not exactly centered & you need to crop the whole thing?
Well, it's like "street photography" yes? Is anything ever perfectly symmetric and even and neatly boxed in the street? No, I think not! I think this critique sucked, and I think he should inflate a tire or something- I did not use the word "blow", I do have some class.. and that's what I think! Β Β Β Β Β

Oh, come on... he never said that my photo sucked !!
It was an honest critique of my work (which I myself had requested), and even though I may not entirely be in agreement with all that was articulated, I do appreciate the feedback.
The reviewer has an excellent understanding of the basic rules of photographic composition, but, as is often the case with most critics, ditto artists/photographers, is that they tend to rely a little too heavily on the said 'rules' so that anything they see or put on canvas must conform to the Rule of Thirds and Golden Ratios and Fibonacci sequences and what nots - which, btw, is the most awesome way of seeing things.
And thank you so very much for your awesome 'review' as well, my friend, you've certainly made my day!

I know he didn't say "it sucked", I may have exaggerated a tiny bit And I know I get overly defensive sometimes- more for my friends than for myself. I don't ask for critiques yet because I can see all my mistakes glaring at me right now with no need for any additions. But, why do you ask for critiques? I can't imagine that you will change YOUR style over any critique no matter who wrote it. I took a look at this guy before writing the above- I know he has many years of experience- so I guess he colored within the lines as a kid- that's all I have to say about THAT
I made your day? Nah.

What? Tire patcher priests?! Nooo!
I mean it's bad enough that these priests are always making us feel guilty for not attending church on a regular basis,
but to have them give sermons on tires is just too damn much!

I don't think he'll be able to handle two tires. He's having enough trouble with one!
