Description
Sooo I know this looks like crap but I did an interview at a game company for an internship and they asked me if I wanted to do an art test.the art test had the subject "funhouse" and has virtually nothing attached. you just needed to create some concept art and do something.
so I thought about what other people would do and came to the conclusion that other people would propably make some happy-happy-land with pretty colours and flowers and stuff. I didn't want that.
I wanted to make a room (which did have fixed dimensions) and turn it into something you can see in the mario 64 game(s). portals to another world.
as you can see I made three, a castle one, a jungle one, and a airplane..thingy one.
with just 2000 triangles to get around with, it seemed pretty hard. but the hardest part was to keep to the limit of 10 textures (max 32x32 pixels and in a multi/sub material).
In the end I used 9 textures and 1202 triangles. the plane was the coolest thing for me, because everything is vertex paint, except for the motion blur reinactment at the front.
oh yeah and it's for the NDS, so that's why everything is so small and low poly
