Habitat: swamps, wetlands, flooded woodlands, southern US
Host plant: sassafras, bay
Broods: 1 to 3, Feb-Dec
Note: this swamp butterfly is common in the south; does not do well in our exhibit [Brookside Gardens, Wings of Fancy, butterfly garden]
