I useta have that problem with erasing, especially since I have a bad habit of drawing heavy lines before I'm ready to refine the lineart of a pic
nowadays I love my non-photo blue pencil for doing basic sketches

if you go to any art store, or at least, a store that sells coloured pencils, there's a shade of light blue literally called "non-photo blue"...you should be able to buy them individually, but I think they might included in any set ? if there's a Pearl store in your area, that's a great chain for art supplies
I know Prismacolor makes them, but those're expensive pencils
