Description
Perhaps the most misunderstood card of all the major arcana, the Devil is not really "Satan" at all, but Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. With Capricorn as its ruling sign, this is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild - or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remind the Querent that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it.Meluxine

I so love this ! Speaks on so many different levels !!! The Satanic beauty of the model descending from her altar showing the devil to the viewer. Her beautiful figure connecting the altar to the viewer, as if she herself are the altar brining Satan to the viewer's eyes. Her eyes showing a state of trance after her prayerful vigil at the altar.
The tossed about tarot cards depict a chaotic possibility and chance encounter with Satan who the lustful altar is only happy to present.
I love the black and white which focuses the viewers eyes on the objects and not necessarily distracted with color enrichment.

This shot was executed very well. I love seeing people incorperate tarot into their art because of the different variations of interpretation it allows. the background had lovely contrast and the model's position is perfect for the message of the card. one thing I would say is the background has more contrast then the foreground. Also, the card in her hand is a little bit hard to see. Someone who knows tarot would be able to tell, but someone with no knowledge of it may not get the message. Your description helps clear things up but if this was in a gallery under the title "tarot" it probably wouldnt have that explanation to follow and may be confusing. perhaps a bit more contrast in the card will help make it the main focal point and the image of the devil will be more noticable.

I love this..nicely done and executed with the Β black and white...the card is perfectly suited to the decor of the room..and the model is shown portraying herself as the seductress..she has has strewn the cards on the floor and comes down to randomly pick one..and it turns out it is the card of devilish revilry..her buttocks up in air and spread..inviting deep penatration..to me this is the ultimate seductive pose..I imagine myself behind her..licking her or sliding into her ..this is really seductive and an excellent use of the tarot imagery invoked in the 15th card of the major arcana

I dont agree with the crit. but i agree that if you put the time to write a crit, then your entitled to your opinion. so i feel your comments stand.
however my 2-cents, i feel the card is clear enough to see. if it was larger, it would in MHO dominate the image. as it stands i focus on the facial expression and body positioning.

The tarot card and how mel is grasping it reflects society is countless aspects and also the inner self of too many persons who enslave their natural emotions for 'powerful human being' as you gracefully described. I loved learning the truth of this specific card!

There is a lot going on in this picture and that is why I like it. All the lines and the little details add to the chosen angle to create a very eye catching experience and one that takes a bit of time to absorb the entire frame.
Really enjoy this picture! Keep up the excellent work!

Good to read your explanation about the concept "Satan". I fully agree with it. Nice pic btw. And that model, can I have her number?

You don't wanna know about the influx I get from this looking at this pic
But seriously, you have done a god job modeling for this shot. You really look like an animal, ready to attack and get you and eat you alive. I really love it. Good job!

I do love the look in her eyes as she presents the card. It leave me wondering, is she enraptured or is she the one who enraptures?
