I long to do work like this....but finding someone who is as enthusiastic about the idea, is rather hard. Brilliant work and technique....

Thank you belair, I love doing this because it is hands on and leaves a lot of room for chance. I hope you get a chance to experiment with it your self soon

nice to see some of these old photographic techniques are still appreciated and practised by todays photographic artists

I used to play with a lot of these techniques 20 years ago and I am inspired to go back into the darkroom for another investigation

I love the image you have produced....erotic and stylish

thanks

belair

A beautiful composition. The sort of inconsistency you get with with collodion, is it how you pour/paint on the liqiuid? If that's what it is, it works perfectly with this image.

Yep this image was made using collodian, I'm really glad you like it. Have you worked in it your self?

This is another great image! I like the framing of the body. This is another glass-plate process, how does it differ from collodion?

Sorry for being so full of questions, there is probably a book I could read about this at school.

It’s totally fine, I learned by bugging some one and bribing them w/ cigarettes. This is also an ambrotype, a positive on a glass plate. Still glass plate collodion. These are just called ambrotypes because they are positive, as oppose to reg glass plates that are negatives and meant for printing. The cool thing about these is if you put a piece of black cloth behind the image it’s a positive and if you hold it up against something white it’s a neg.

Check out jodyake.com He thought me everything I know, does some amazing work in NYC

Again I must say I like the presentation you give to your work..
and even though it may look oil-painted..it still has the feeling of an unique photography...
and thats what I like the complex process you had with them..
Interesting concept..and this would make an interesting original april image for an art calendar..
