You guys get to see a sneak peak of what Ritulus looks like! Isn't he one sexy mofo?

There was a time in my past when I was once fond of someone. It was long ago, in my youth. I had thought of him as my savior, in a way. You see, he had saved me from death after I was abandoned. Or so he had said. As youth does to everyone, I was naïve and impressionable, so it is understandable how easily he was able to manipulate me. Ritulus was his name.
It was time for me to prove my loyalty to him, one day. He had begun by bringing me along to meet those who had trespassed on our lands. Before now, Ritulus had asked me to merely observe, but this time, he prepared me for action.

Out of respect, I stayed back as he questioned the trespasser. It was a female, judging by the sound of her voice. Frail. Faint. Light-hearted. She had trespassed knowingly, seeking to join the pack. Before Ritulus had called me forward, I knew that this endeavor would be quick. She would never be able to hold her ground against any of Ritulus’ guards.

As I moved forward and he stepped aside, my gaze came upon the female. A silent moment of shock ran through me. It was like looking at into a river, at my own reflection- well, not quite. Her eyes and physique were different, obviously, but otherwise, she and I were identical. As we stared at one another for the briefest of moments, I could see that she noticed this as well. Her breath caught and her jaw fell agape.
Ritulus wasted no time in ordering us to fight, but she had regained her composure and pleaded with him. If I was shocked before, what came out of her next would have made me faint, if not for the thought of Ritulus watching me.
“Please! He’s my son! I will not fight him!” She repeated over and over. Each time she spoke, my anger grew and grew. Ritulus barked at me to finish the job, to trust the one who had raised me, that this was not my mother, was not my family at all.
I listened to Ritulus. He was, after all, the one who had saved me, gave me second life. She was easy to kill. She did not fight back. And as I stared down at her motionless body, I marveled at her markings again. They were ones that I knew well, for they marked my own body.
The only difference now was the blood.
