Across the map

Every fingerprint

These scars are
Not visible to the naked eye
If you look close enough
Then you'll see them

Each one represents
Another memory
That I wish to forget

It's just another day
And they don't fade
The tears are
Caught in my eyes
And are turning
Into glass

I make a mirror
Out of every piece
That falls from my eyes
And onto the floor

I reflect on everything
Every part of the memory
That left me feeling cold
And so damn broken

The scars don't fade
I wish they did
Because I can forget
Everything that had happened

The mirror slips
From my finger tips
And slices up
My entire body

You can't erase
What has already happened
Burn all the photographs
Throw away
All of those meaningful things
That used to mean something
To me

The scars don't disappear
And the heart
Can't mend on its own

Sew it up
To make the blood
Not flow down
My chest

Maybe one day
I'll repair it again
The mirror won't shatter
This time
