in Photoshop, at the bottom of the layers palette there's a button called "add layer mask". You just select the area you want to keep with the selection tool and click this button. it makes all other parts of the layer invisible. go for hiding stuff instead of erasing, in case you want use it again later.

Holy crap. That is an insane amount of work put into this. But it paid off, it looks great.

If it's like in CS, it should be in the options menu on the top right of the layers palette.
Alternatively you can also just select the layer you want, and press CTRL-G. This will clip the layer to the one beneath it.

Very interesting process. I haven't gotten to the point where I can draw digitally. I really like doing it by hand, scanning and then working the line art and inking in Illustrator before porting to Photoshop for coloring. Granted, I'm still a novice, and by no means a Photoshop monkey. I'm a little weak at coloring, at least in my opinion, so I'm always curious how other artists approach it.

I love the look of Blackout >3 He just has that cute badass side of him that makes me squee! I would of loved to see Soundwave using his guitar in here.
I remember when I did a job shadow at a nearby print shop and the owner told me about the CMYK settings. He would always get students from the university near by that would have their work in RBG. He'd ask for it in CMYK and they are all giving a Huh? look. The professors never teach it. D:
Thanks for the process! Huge help to some of us

I can't believe it's just on piece. I honestly thought you must have done several elements seperately and put them together later.
This is even more mind boggling than I first thought.Excellent job!

This is good. I'm wondering if you can post steps on how to make characters indevidually.
BTW, I noticed some spelling mistakes in there. But then again, no one's perfect to begin with.
