Description
Commission piece. A preposterously large pressurized space drydock. The warship heading for the main maintenance bay is a bit over 900m long. Though not everything is perfectly scaled, it's still pretty hugeWacom and PS over pencil sketch.

Meh, a serious "shrug" kinda debate.
though you could make the argument that you wouldn't want words sounding like "air lock" that weren't actually referring to one?
Mostly though, it's just a hold over. Like how space forces are most often referred to as naval forces and use a lot of the language.
thanks for look in though

That ship, if I'm not mistaken, is a Mjolnir class cruiser, the biggest and baddest warship class of the Innersphere powers and pride of the Lyran Commonwealth.

That smaller satellite in the upper center: I feel like I recognize that. What is it?

iirc i got that fellow from a canon depiction of an "orbital factory", from some book aeons ago
In this case it's likely up there handling all the manufacture that might be too dangerous to do inside the dock.

I do hope you're kidding, but if you're serious, then yes. Any point where a ship is docked where there is water is a "wet" dock. A drydock is a special docking area where all the water is removed and the ship rests on massive metal supports. They are commonly used when repairing a ships hull or building a ship. Given space is considered "black water" (hence the term black water navy), then any place a ship resides where it undergoes serious repair would be a drydock.

That's one hell of a space station. With all of the different landing pads and hangars, I fear that it would exceed the 2.5 million tonne mass limit of the BattleTech design rules.

As far as the commissioner's notes in the design, if they're correct, it is AT that ceiling
