Commission forHum, the story is a bit complicated so sorry if the setup looks strange but I can't really tell you in short what's going on !
However that was a funny one to paint.

Clothing for the left one looks Chinese, the right is obviously Japanese, but the middle one I can't place; methinks, tho, that she looks a bit like Katara from "Avatar: The Last Airbender".

Well, for the central character (Yoko) outfits, the inspiration is more japanese and ... Legends of the 5 Rings, Crane clan.

Yes, the story is complicated it was far from obvious to get from the idea to the concept. The result is far more interesting than what I first imagined. I think that this is the touch of a real artist.
