Description Autodesk Maya 2008
Adobe Photoshop CS3

My most recent assignment for my Advanced Advanced 3D Modeling class. We had 3 weeks to take a 2d concept drawing which could only be picked from a small selection of artists and translate it to 3d while retaining the concept's style. This guy's face was a real pain since the concept had his face very flat but somehow very contoured and round from the side view. This is what I came up with in the end. I do like the character overall though I don't know how well I did compared to the original. I'll put up a link to the original once I find one.

i dunno...
interning at a VERY small game company (graduating in animation) and I hope the boss takes me on once I grad.

I know better than to put all my eggs into one basket though. I'm gonna be handing out my demo reel, resume etc.

Trust me though, hop on getting that demo reel done NOW. Unless you make it REALLY short and simple, most people start working on them a year before they graduate.

Yeah, I just did a full rig for him but I really want to texture him. I've just been busy, but break's coming so that's probably next on the list.

Looks really good. I'm just curious, but how many polys is that?? XD lol

Fingers look a little square though. Nice job on the clothes

7116 tri's on the low poly, 91056 on the high poly.
His fingers I made square on purpose since his hands in the drawing seem to be that way. I think it's just because of the angle but I still wanted to retain the look of the character.
