Once he got on the ground I was wondering how he was gonna get back up. And the little twitch, perfect touch. I love the dark humor in this. It's those who can harness the gory details of life in a creative way that scare me the least in this world of ours.

I take it as something good because it was exactly my intention (to create a strong contrast between the topical light childish innocence and the roughness and tragedy of growing up and facing the real world), but maybe you were disapointed after expecting something else...?

The thing that bothers me thought, is the general timing of the animation. It is too slow. Timing is something hard to get and people often animate too slow. Just that in mind next time you animate (if you were the animator?)and there will be a greaaat difference you'll see.

I did animate some shots (the most complex ones), but not all. It's far from being my best animation ever, it's full of flaws... but it's almost 3 years old. i've learned a bit since then

Just what we wanted. We set up that cute childish cartoony beginning to take away any expectation of... what really happens to many young birds who try to fly for the first time and don't make it. Life's hard... and full of contrast

Yikes! It reminds me so much of my swiftwater rescue training, when it was our job to hurl ourselves into a not-so-safe situation. We were in whitewater like the little bird was in the air, you've got the basic knowledge of how to flap your wings, but you'd better hope they hold up in flight!
Great film, the animation was well done and the many layers of interpretation show the thought you put into it.

It's nice to know that you related to the character, and that you understood my message so well. Many people don't go beyond the superficial dark humour of this film, but I always try to add more levels to my stories. Here of course, as you understood so well, it's about that common fear of taking a big step in your life... the fear of growing up.

ahahaha i'm sorry, but it's normal that you cannot understand...i've been implicit... i've only made a world with what in the reality is the sound.. in italian we said that birds make this sound, "cip"... as the dog makes "bau" or the cat "miao" or the cow "muuuu" an so on.... it's like an onomatopoeia...!!
