Description The bedroom was dark and silent. Sabrina woke up from deep slumber abruptly by a soft click. She could feel something cold wrapped tightly around her neck. She pulled herself to a sit and with her right hand she tried to feel what is the source of the unfamiliar pressure around her neck. However, before the tips of her fingers were even able to make contact with the source of the odd sensation, her whole body was rocked by a jolt of energy!

Her eyes widened in shock and a silent shriek of surprise blended with the silence of the room. Her whole body froze in mid motion, her fingers were desperately trying to reach and touch the source of the energy, that she now felt was streaming into her body from the object around her neck. Sabrina's vision blurred and everything she saw suddenly had a strange green hue, she also felt pulsing pressure in her temples. Strange symbols and static noise started to fill her vision like a waterfall and moments later she started to feel like if her mind is getting disconnected from her body. This sensation grew stronger every second and once it stopped she realized that she lost all control over her body. It felt like if all communication between her mind and her body became one way only, allowing information from all her senses to reach her mind but blocking all commands her mind was trying to send back.

Lights from passing cars sometimes made it through the bedroom windows and pierced the darkness and for a brief moment theyΒ  highlighted female figure sitting on the bed. Her eyes were glowing bright green and there was a collar made of polished metal securely closed around her neck. The figure was not moving but inside of the figure's head there were two minds. One slowly taking hold of the frozen body with artificial precision and the other one, the one that belonged to Sabrina was now just a passenger in her own body. She was trapped, isolated and yet, still aware of everything. She could only wait as the new mind that was now in control started to receive its baseline programming sent to it from the shiny metallic collar...

A bit of a darker and not really that good attempt at a caption for the render I've spent working on most of the yesterday. Idea wise this could be an image number 3 from a possible sequence that could contain probably 6 images but as always and a usual with my quickly changing focus, the other may never get created...

I meant to ask how you did the glowing effects in here with the lines ... color etc... is that postworked? Curious as I never quite satisfied at the moment with things like that ...

No post work... I suck at post work so I try to avoid it as much as possible. That is the reason why all you see in this image is par of the render. The post work I do is usually just doing some hair touch ups or dealing with poke throughs etc.

Yep I try to avoid that as well as much as possible. So how do you do it , I think you use Daz and Octane?

Yes. It is just the usual Octane stuff. Material mix of skin mix that is combined with an emissive node.

Cool thanks thought as much but I don't have Octane, well not yet, tested it out when they were doing the free and loved it but something I have to save up on... thanks again

Nowdays I guess one should be ready to get quite similar results with the iray. But I'm staying with Octane because I already know my way around so I don't have to learn every thing all over again

I primarily use Poser myself, but installing Daz again, so I can go and do some more renderer comparisons between the two programs and Reality lux renderer... as this puter is a bit better than the dinosaur than I had been testing stuff with ... I can well understand not wanting to learn everything over again

Looks like we are pretty similar. I also own Poser, Reality and Luxus (both use the Lux Render for rendering) and in past I was experimenting with all of them. Then one day I bought Octane and that was it

Oh I fell in love with Octane when I used it during the free period they ran last year... I just can't afford it quite yet ... it even ran fairly well on my old puter be nice on this one, though I'm not armed with titans or anything ... I'll get it eventually

Octane is great, but not cheap. Maybe you could try DAZ with the iray. It should have similar capabilities and it is part of DAZ for free.

I am going to but not a real big fan of Daz's interface. I did finally figure things out but had to take a break from it. Relearning how to do stuff in another system is never fun. I also wasn't entirely wowed by what I did test previously for iray... but I'll be looking at it and superfly closer in the short term... but both to require re-manipulation or recreation of my materials I"ve built up over the years ... and gaining familiarity with the nuances... tis in the queue ... first thing was to reinstall Daz on this new system ...

The interface problems - same thing I'm facing when I try to do something in Poser for a change.

Yeah I hear ya I started with Daz never made sense to me, got Poser made sense... just way brains work I suppose... but funny how familiar you get with something took me a bit to figure it out ... now I need to tackle the daz material room

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MBirdCZ In reply to creativeguy59 [2016-07-26 05:17:46 +0000 UTC]

Way back in past I started with Poser. Then switched to DAZ and found it more easy to understand and move around (granted maybe with less features at that time). Material definitions in both Poser and DAZ were always kind of a mystery to me so when Octane came, where all stuff in the material definitions started to make sense... It was that 'shut up and take my money' moment for me... And even more so when we talk about lights. Lights were nightmare to setup right in both DAZ and Poser.

creativeguy59 In reply to MBirdCZ [2016-07-26 14:17:15 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I do like how Octane handles materials, but I am very familiar with Poser Material room now... daz looks somewhat in general less powerful in those regards, but I haven't really looked in depth to it. I am told it is like the original Poser material room from some distant time in the past. I agree though with what you have to say about Octane. I hadn't quite figured lighting fully out in Octane but it in general seemed nicer and cleaner... I'd have to figure on how to make my own mats at some point for Octane but the defaults were fairly nice... and the quality can't be beat Β

really like the picture and the story. Would love for there to be more of it. It would be great to have the passing car lights illuminate another person in the room. An ex boyfriend with a grudge, a female acquaintance from work who she rejected the advances of ... or maybe she she's her best friend or her sister wearing a collar and strange clothes standing at attention waiting for the collar to finish its work so they can both return to their owner .....

I have never been much of a writer, so that is why the captions are wither short, or there are none at all... I believe that if the image is good enough it should enable anyone to come with a caption of their own.

I actually may do that... one day.. The idea asks for roughly 6 images so it should not be too far-stretched goal. Plus none of the images would be too explicit for dA... So yeah... we shall see...

Now however, I'm building a new sinister human scanner/TF machine for SUZEtech...
