The rain had started to fall, the raindrops fell heavy down into Zeke’s thick fur. He had been wandering most of the day and was now in need of shelter. He looked for a long time with no luck, he was now completely soaked and moved slower. He stopped and lifted his head towards the sky, he felt the rain cover his face. His mind traveled back to Tephe, the rain reminded him of the kisses he usually would get from his ma and sisters, and it gave him comfort.

He was longing for the warmth, and the safety he felt when the family would cover him as a big pile, and then they would all sleep together, no one was left out. Whenever it would start to rain like this back home, they would meet up in the cave and just be together.

It would be warm and safe.

Now it was cold and freezing, he was all alone. It still hit him hard, but he had made the choice to leave and this was the consequence he had to face. yet more than anything he wanted to return, return to the comfort of Tephe - like it used to be.

But it could never be like it used to… The war had destroyed his family and had taken away Ma. It would never be the same.

So he might as well keep going.
