Description
I call this piece Remnants because the paper mache mask was a throwaway piece from one of my first mask molds. I had worked with feathers; detested how it looked and took it back to square one rather than throw it away. The polymer clay mosaic pieces are literally remnants from my mother-in-law's scrap piles! Combined in my puttering with the clay I took the scraps and cut them into small scales randomly. They were baked separately and hand laid onto the mask. Grouted with a Liquitex Black Lava Gel Medium to add shine and speckling. I will be experimenting with this technique in the future.Related content
